I designed this illustration for the cover book for George Orwell’s famous novel “1984”.
I chose to represent the community of people as a group of sheep going in the same direction at the same pace and in the same way. The only exception is the main character which differs from the others by his color and position. He is unaware of the shepherd’s stick above him which seems to be grabbing him in a few moments.
I used a fingerprint to represent sheeps’ fur. It helped me making each element of the cover raedable without adding any more weight to the composition.
I also designed a fake editor’s logo, called Tondandori that I added to my cover to give it a more realistic look.
